Congratulations! You succesfully talked me out of it. Especially once I realized it was a 79...
I’m still considering a $1,200 2007 CBR 125, but I’m not sure I’m going to go with it, it’s still quite a big investment for me.

yea. 79 = 35 year old bike.
thats not a bad bike to learn to ride. though, you will probably want something else before you jump to a supersport.
look into suzuki GS500s

I’ve heard that the bigger the CC the more insurance costs, and through a quick search those seem to be just slightly over budget, which is something I don’t want to go into with a bike I don’t entirely like (unlike the cafe racer above, which isn’t gonna happen).
But I’m 17, and I drive already so I may just hold out for a motorcycle until next summer if I have more money and whatnot.

ohh believe me, you probably wouldnt have liked it. cafe racers are usually pretty uncomfy to ride.
that is true. there are certian classes of insurance (sub 500, 500-100, 1000+) but you also have to l;ook into the history of that style and bike and what not.
ask around. You might be surprised. My buell Blast (500 single) was less to insure then a ninja 250
